Mulch & Soil

When it’s time to get down and dirty; we’ve got you covered with a great selection of bagged mulches, soils and soil amendments. Mulches are used to decorate your landscape, but can also act as a natural weed preventer. We carry mulches consisting of shredded hardwood, cypress, cedar, all bark cypress, pine bark, pine bark nuggets, pine straw and black color enhanced.

Having a good soil is a great start to growing healthy plants. We have all the bagged soils and soil amendments you need to be successful from “Garden Magic” top soil, composted cow manure, mushroom compost, organic peat and peat moss. We also carry Fertilome and Miracle Grow potting mixes, Fox Farm and Ocean Forest potting soil, vermiculite, perilite, and other soil conditioners.

Our raised bed soil recipe can be used to create a great above ground garden approximately 4 ft by 4ft by 10” deep

  • 1 – 3.8 cu. ft. bale of peat moss
  • 5 – 40 pound bag composted cow manure
  • 1 – 4 cu. ft. bag vermiculite
  • 1 – 1.5 cu. Ft. bag pine soil conditioner

Our mulch and soil selections are offered in various sizes

  • Potting soils – 1, 2 and 3 cubic foot bag
  • Organic potting mix – 2 cu ft bag
  • Composted cow manure – 40 pound bag
  • Mushroom compost – .65 cu ft
  • Sphagnum peat moss – 1 and 3 cu ft bag
  • Hardwood, Cypress, Pine bark and black color enhanced mulch – 2 cu ft
  • Cedar mulch – 3 cu ft
  • Pine Straw – bale

Typical coverage rates for mulches and soils

27 – 1 cubic foot bags equal 1 yard
14 – 2 cubic foot bags equal 1 yard
9 – 3 cubic foot bags equal 1 yard

2 cubic foot bag of mulch will cover 12 sq. ft. 2” thick
3 cubic foot bag of mulch will cover 18 sq. ft. 2” thick

40 pound bag of topsoil, composted cow manure, etc. will cover 9 sq. ft. 1” thick
Pine straw bale will cover 50 square feet
